In just over three months, the SEC Network will televise its first event – the South Carolina-Texas A&M football game on August 28, 2014.

The 24-hour SEC Network, which will debut August 14, will air more than 1,000 live events during the 2014-15 athletic year, including 45-plus football games, 100 men’s basketball games, 75 baseball games, 60 women’s basketball games and 50 softball games.

As we draw closer to August, more Gator fans will be asking themselves, ‘Will I have the SEC Network?’ Currently, ESPN is actively negotiating with cable companies and satellite providers across the country to carry the SEC Network as part of its basic packages. Thus far, DISH Network, AT&T U-verse, Google Fiber and NRTC have agreed to carry the SEC Network. This is not a pay-per-view network, but a channel like ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU that is being marketed to the cable operators to carry as another channel in their basic cable lineup.

The SEC Network will be available on computers, tablets, mobile phones and other consumer devices like Xbox to fans who receive their video subscription through an affiliated provider. The aim is to make this content available to fans anytime, anywhere, similar to how the WatchESPN application works today.

A mix of both existing ESPN personnel and new on-air staff will be present on the network. Most recent staff announced to be featured on the network include Paul Finebaum, Joe Tessitore, Brent Musberger, Jesse Palmer, Greg McElroy and Tim Tebow.
