Spanish Broadcasting System Inc. (SBS) (NASDAQ: SBSA) announced the official launch of\u00a0Cima 106.3FM<\/strong>, a radio station programmed to reach the Colombian community of South Florida.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, April 23 at 12 am, one of SBS\u2019s South Florida radio stations,\u00a0 WRAZ-LA RAZA 106.3FM,\u00a0 became\u00a0\u00a0WRAZ- Cima 106.3FM<\/strong>, changing\u00a0 its\u00a0 music format\u00a0 to\u00a0 pure\u00a0“Cumbia and Vallenato\u201d<\/em><\/strong>,<\/em> the tropical music genres\u00a0 that capture the essence and the musical traditions of Colombia and its people. Colombians are the second largest Hispanic community in South Florida.<\/p>\n

Jesus Salas, executive vice president of programming for SBS, said: \u00a0“Although the format and programming will be directed to Colombians, we are certain that we will also receive great acceptance from other communities who love this genre of music; many of the interpreters of these rhythms, are also very popular throughout Latin America. This change reflects our desire to fill a musical void\u00a0 in the Colombian community, and in the rest of\u00a0 the lovers of these genres of music,\u00a0 with the best in Cumbia\u00a0 and Vallenato;\u00a0 at the same time, we are building a musical and cultural bridge between\u00a0 the different regions of Colombia,\u00a0 and the Colombian community residing in South Florida. ”

\nSBS<\/strong> will soon announce further developments on the new radio station, including the personalities hosting the different shows.\u00a0\u00a0Cima 106.3FM<\/strong> reaches listeners from a vast territory- Miami-Dade County to the Florida Keys.<\/p>\n
